Dallas Photographer: Announcements, Pricing, Mini-Sessions...oh my!

Whew! Only 5 days into 2010 and I've been super busy over here. Cleaning. Organizing. Purging. You know...stuff we ALL say we'll do in the New Year and then before you know it, there are 20 piles o' crap you have no clue what to do with. Blah. Story of my life.

Anyway, I've been working on some new and exciting business ideas that I think everyone will love in 2010.

First of all, I'm starting a 52 weeks project. The goal is to challenge myself. To think outside the box. To use lenses I never use. To refresh and invigorate! I tried this last year and I tapered off somewhere around March. Now, I've got all of you to hold me accountable. Look for entry 1 soon!

Next, I've reworked my pricing structure for 2010. I'm pleased to offer built-in early ordering incentives for simple sessions as well as 4 new print collections, designed to inspire you AND save you money. Early ordering incentives work as a print credit. So, a simple session is now $275 but $125 will go right back to you in the form of a print credit IF you place your order within 5 days. Neat, huh? I will also be offering print collections and yes--you can use your early ordering incentive towards print collections. Oh, and mini-sessions will now be offered 4 times per year. Be sure to check the blog for mini-session announcements and specials.

Speaking of mini-sessions, it's time for Valentine's Day mini-sessions! Tired of the boring, store bought Valentine's cards? Want something personal, fun and get a portrait session too? Well, I've got a great offer you aren't going to want to miss!

Oh so sweet! Check out this little porcelain doll! I met up with Baby C and her family this afternoon for a quick little session to capture some 6 month images. The little angel only fussed when her curiosity got the best of her and she ended up with a mouth full of leaves. Yum! We had fun playing peek a boo, making silly noises, and just letting this sweetheart entertain us.

Another holiday mini-session from this weekend! I got a call on Friday afternoon that this session *might* not happen. The little guy took a tumble at the fair and had to have 8 stitches in his chin! Poor thing. But, he was super brave and gave me some great smiles even though he was probably really uncomfortable. And the little girl was a tough sell, but nothing that my crazy dancing couldn't break. Remember, you PROMISED not to tell anyone about my dancing skills from 1997. ;)

Oh the weather outside is frightful. But inside it's so delightful...

Okay, okay. Wrong season (although these words to this Christmas classic sure do apply to Texas summers too). I know it's only July, but I've got Christmas on the brain. Why? Because I just picked up some amazing new holiday card templates! While I work on samples to share (which will be up in the next week), I thought I'd go ahead and throw out this year's holiday mini-session dates. These were a HUGE hit last year and are sure to fill up fast. Due to my schedule this year, I'm only offering 5 slots for each date, so if you're interested, contact me soon! I've changed things up a little this year, so be sure to let me know which session package you're interested in upon booking. Happy Holidays (a little early)!

Dallas family photographer: It had to be on his own accord...

This sweet little family met me in Frisco this afternoon for a mini-session. Little Boy wanted NOTHING to do with pictures! We had to pull out all the big guns...you know--sticks, dirt, waterfalls, cows. All things BOY. He finally came up with this shot all on his own. Or at least we're letting him think it was all on his own. J, here's your sneak peek!

I'm hitting the sack early tonight. This crazy Texas weather (allergens galore) is driving me batty! I see a nice Benadryl in my future. Sigh...

Sneak Peek: Randi and Madee

This is my beautiful little sister, Randi and her 3.5 year old daughter. Randi helped me out in a big way yesterday, serving as kiddo corral patrol during my mini-sessions. As a thank you, we did a mini-session today and I'll put her Christmas cards together too. Don't tell her, but I probably would've done them anyway. ;)

Sneak Peek: F family

Last one for tonight, folks!

This family was the lucky winner of my blog contest earlier this fall. Congrats! At first, we weren't real sure how things were going to play out as the little E-monkey wasn't too keen on staying in one spot. However, my awesome assistant (who is really just my sister, but assistant sounds so professional AND I'm paying her) came to the rescue by playing peek a boo with an Elmo puppet behind my head. It even got the 4 year old giggling. Love that!

Gorgeous. This family is just gorgeous! The H family (mom, dad, and junior) were all very sweet and I just love the way dad and mom dance with their little guy to get him smiling! And check out those baby blues, please. Wow.

This is my 4th time to "shoot" this family. We always have a great time and today was no exception. I can't get over that chunky monkey--lil G is almost 4 months and is SOLID. Goodness, can't you just eat him up! And big sister is very proud of her lil' brother and pretty adorable too.
